The Domi 2 Does Not Really Understand Subtle
Everyone tells you the Domi 2 is powerful. They are right. What does not get explained nearly as well is how quickly it gets powerful.
There is surprisingly little runway between turning the Domi 2 on and getting into serious vibration. If that is exactly what you are looking for, this thing punches well above what its size suggests. But sometimes I want the journey there too.
The three physical intensity levels make the problem more noticeable. The jumps between them feel big, and even the lower end never struck me as particularly delicate. Once I wanted more precise control, I found myself reaching for the app. Not because I needed a fancy pattern. I just wanted more control over the space between “hello” and “GOOD MORNING”.
That distinction matters more than the headline power figure, and almost nobody writes about it.
The App Makes It Better Than It Has Any Right to Be
Jordan is far more tolerant than I am of pulling out a phone, connecting Bluetooth and playing with settings. Give that man an app connected to something in our bedroom and he is entertained. I am less enthusiastic. I want to pick something up and use it.
Unfortunately the app genuinely makes the Domi 2 a better toy. You get much finer control over intensity, and you can customise what the physical buttons do. Jordan controlling it from the app was also considerably more interesting than me cycling through settings myself.
So the app solves my biggest complaint. My problem is that I am not sure the complaint should require an app to solve. If Lovense makes another Domi, keep the ridiculous power at the top and give me more room to play at the bottom.
The device does work with the app closed, which is a real advantage over toys that are bricks without a phone. It just works coarsely. For cam work, the app supports tip-activated vibration on the major platforms, the same integration the Sex Machine uses.
Yes, You Can Hear It
The other criticism you will see is noise, and it holds up.
I would not call the Domi 2 absurdly loud for what it is. Powerful wands make noise, and physics remains stubbornly unwilling to accommodate my sex toy preferences. Third-party testing puts it around 60 decibels at full power, which is roughly the level of a normal conversation.
What surprised me was the disconnect between its size and its sound. It looks small enough that you expect discretion. Turn the power up and that illusion disappears quickly.
Would I use it with someone sleeping on the other side of a thin wall? Probably not. Has the noise stopped me using it at home? Clearly not.
What Most Domi 2 Reviews Miss
After using it repeatedly, I think the Domi 2’s greatest strength and its biggest weakness are the same thing. It is incredibly eager.
There are toys where I spend time hunting for enough intensity. The Domi 2 has the opposite problem. The power is already waiting, and sometimes I want more say in how I get there.
That is also why I would not tell everyone who wants a “powerful vibrator” to go and buy one. If you already know you like deep, strong vibration, it packs an almost silly amount of capability into a compact wand, and I understand the devoted following. If you are sensitive, prefer a slow build, or rarely venture past the lower settings on your current vibrator, then “THIS THING IS POWERFUL” is not a recommendation. It is a warning worth paying attention to.
Having tested Lovense products across multiple generations, that is my strangest conclusion about the Domi 2: Lovense built a toy that showcases what its app does extremely well, while simultaneously reminding me why I do not always want to use an app in the first place.
Where It Sits in the Range
The Domi 2 answers a specific question: what do you buy if you do not want to insert anything and you do want real power. Almost everything else Lovense makes is wearable or insertable. This is a handheld wand, and that difference decides whether it suits you more than any spec.
- Versus the Lush 3: the Lush is worn internally and left alone, which the Domi 2 cannot do. If hands-free is the point, this is the wrong product. If you want something you can aim, it is the right one.
- Versus the Flexer: three motors and noticeably more power if raw vibration is the priority. The Domi 2 trades some of that for a shape you can hold and position freely.
- Versus the Ferri: the Ferri is the pick if discretion and hands-free wear matter and power does not. The Domi 2 is the opposite trade.
Battery and Runtime
Lovense rates the Domi 2 at 160 minutes of active use and up to 370 minutes maximum, with roughly 100 hours of standby and a full charge in about 2.6 hours. Independent testing has confirmed the 370 minute figure.
That is strong for a wand this size, and worth stating plainly because “the battery is always dead” is one of the most common things people search about this product. A Domi 2 running flat well inside that has one of three problems:
- The charging pin is not fully seated. The Domi 2 does not charge magnetically and does not take the Lush pin cable. It uses its own connector, pushed firmly but slowly into the port until a solid red light appears. - The power source is underpowered. Laptop ports and old wall adapters frequently supply too little current for a full charge.
- The cell has degraded. Lithium-ion capacity falls with age and charge cycles. If it charges fully and still runs for well under an hour, that is wear, and it is not repairable.
Build and Water Resistance
ABS plastic and body-safe silicone, 299.9 grams, with a flexible neck that takes firm pressure without any sense it might break. The finger indentations on the handle make it easy to hold and reposition.
It is IPX6, not waterproof. It withstands splashing and wipes clean, but it cannot be submerged. Bath use is out, and Lovense does not always make that obvious.
Is the Domi 2 Right for You?
Work through these before buying. If you answer no to the first two, something else in the range fits better.
- Do you already know you like strong, deep vibration? This is the question. If you mostly stay on the lower settings of what you own now, the power here is a warning rather than a selling point.
- Do you want to hold and aim it? Not a set-and-forget toy. It needs a free hand for the whole session.
- Are you comfortable using the app? Three levels without it, with jumps you will notice. Fine control means your phone.
- Can you tolerate a device audible from the next room? Around 60 decibels at full power, from something that looks like it should be discreet.
- Is this your first toy of this kind? If so, it probably should not be.
If the first two are no, look at the Ferri for hands-free discretion, or the Flexer if you want power in a shape you do not have to hold.

I like the Domi 2. Not because it is powerful, plenty of toys are powerful. I like it because it is compact, seriously capable, and gives me far more control once the app is involved. Jordan controlling it also makes considerably more sense to me than sitting there staring at my own phone.
But I would not call it subtle, quiet, or particularly graceful at lower intensities.
Buy it if you want something wild that can be persuaded to behave itself, you are happy to hold and aim it, and you do not mind reaching for the app when you want precision.
Skip it if you want something gentle that can occasionally get wild. That is a different toy. The Ferri answers the discretion case and the Lush 3 answers the hands-free one.
On price: the Domi 2 lists at $199, and we have rarely seen it sell at that. Lovense discounts heavily and often, and at the time of writing it was sitting at $89 in a holiday sale. Treat the list price as a ceiling rather than a number to plan around, and if you are not in a hurry, wait for a sale. At half list or better this is a straightforward recommendation for anyone who wants the power. At full list it is a harder argument.
